Toshodai-ji Temple is the head temple of the Risshu sect, and its founder (founder) is Ganjin, a monk from Tang.

This is the temple where Ganjin spent his later years, and has many cultural assets, including the Kondo and Kodo built during the Nara period (710-794).

In 1998, it was registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as part of the cultural properties of ancient Nara.
